Our Wild Coast - We're part of something bigger!

A planning application has been submitted to build a dam on the Afon Cynfal in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park as part of a hydro-electric scheme. These plans threaten wildlife and the rare species that occupy this Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

The Welsh Beaver Project has been investigating the feasibility of bringing wild beavers back to Wales since 2005. This work is being led by the Wildlife Trusts in Wales as part of our Living Landscapes strategy and we now hope to undertake a managed reintroduction to Wales.

Once a thriving hub of lead mining, this remarkable area is now home to rich grasslands, rare orchids, and a variety of birds and insects that thrive in its open spaces.

There is an abundance of wildlife in Mold and the local area, however these plants and animals are at risk of declining, through a lack of connectivity between habitats and of people to wildlife. Our Wild About Mold project is offering opportunities to help, and become more connected to wildlife - why not get involved!
