Join Gary Jones, professional photographer, to learn more about the incredible ospreys at Llyn Brenig, We’ll begin in the Osprey Suite at the Visitor Centre, where Gary will share the fascinating story of the osprey—its amazing migration, its return to North Wales, and the lives of the birds that nest at Brenig.
Ospreys have been Gary's passion for over 20 years, and during that time he's spent countless hours photographing and watching them. He'll be sharing some of his favourite images, stories from the field, and the moments that have made him fall in love with these remarkable birds.
After the talk, we’ll head to the North Wales Wildlife Trust lookout, where the dedicated volunteer team keeps watch over the nesting ospreys throughout the breeding season. It’s a great opportunity to learn about the conservation work that helps protect them and to see first-hand how the project operates.
We’ll then make our way to the Osprey Hide, just 140 metres from the nest, where, with a little luck, we’ll be able to watch the birds as they fish, feed, and care for their young. Seeing an osprey at this distance is a truly memorable experience and one that never loses its magic, no matter how many times I’ve been lucky enough to witness it.
