Update 13/08/2020

A Lazy Sunday Afternoon

As far as we are aware the ospreys have not been back on their nest since last Thursday 6th August.

On Sunday (9th) afternoon we could see all 3 ospreys flying around and perching. Early on an osprey was spotted flying high above the forest skyline. Mid-afternoon, through the scopes, we were following 2 osprey flying above Gors Maen Llwyd (NWWT nature reserve) and then spotted  a 3rd one perching on a tree top far in the distance, again on Gors Maen Llwyd.

Towards late afternoon a few other people had joined us watching 2 ospreys in flight over the conifers behind the nest and 1 osprey perching in a conifer above the nest. As a guess and on both occasions, the 2 flying around were HR7 and KC5 (Dwynwen) and it was BLUE 24 on the perch. Just a short time later an osprey was again flying high up in the sky over Gors Maen Llwyd.

Early evening we were busily searching for the whereabouts of the ospreys when I left the scope to talk to some people, on returning to the scope it had moved slightly and when I went looked through  it – there, in full vision, were 3 ospreys perched low down in the conifers between the solar panels and the nest. Amazing, or a well-trained scope!

We are at our Osprey lookout Thursdays to Sunday every week to answer all your questions.
