Plast Off! 2026

A large gathering of people in winter clothing, in a sandy dune edge car park. Most are holding litter pickers and blue or red bags, one at the front is wearing high visibility yellow and addressing the crowd through a megaphone. The day is clear and cold with a pale blue sky and light streaky clouds.

About the event

Kick start the year with some positive action for wildlife and our beautiful local coastline.

Our 9th annual Plast Off! Beach Clean will be at Porth Tyn Tywyn.

In Porth Tyn Tywyn car park, you will find the North Wales Wildlife Trust Plast Off! base with staff and the young volunteers who are helping to organise this years event.

At our car park base, you will be able to:

  • Collect beach clean equipment.
  • Explore our marine-themed information stalls
  • Find out about our January Half Price Membership Offer from the membership area
  • Collect your certificate for taking part.

There will be a big group briefing (and group photo too) shortly after 10am, and then litter picking until 1pm-ish when all litter will need to be returned to our base ready for a big weigh-in (and group photo with our final litter haul of course). But for those planning on coming for a shorter time, don't worry, there'll be staff and volunteers available to welcome you after the main briefing too.

Please bring your own gloves if you have them as we won't have enough to lend to everybody. There will be plenty of litter pickers and bin bags provided.

There will be free parking at Porth Tyn Tywyn for anyone attending the event between 10am - 2pm - collect a permit from a member of NWWT staff on arrival (thanks to Bodorgan Estate for their permission for this).

There will be refreshments available to buy from a local vendor (so bring a reusable cup and some money!)
