The Armchair Naturalist: Amphibians

A great crested newt, an amphibian with dark brown slightly mottled skin, bright orange belly with brown spots, and tiny white dots on it's side, limbs and face. It has a long flat tail that appears to be in 3 parts horizontally, and a crest all the way along it's back looking almost like a very small jagged fin. This particular newt is floating in water with it's left side and belly facing the camera and left arm raised as though waving.
