About the event
Join us on March 21st for the next Dro Dŵr with special creative guests from Germany. Syndikat Gefährliche Liebschaften is a performance collective we have collaborated with for 18 months.
They will provide playful prompts to explore different perspectives of the water world during the walk, for example - What does looking at and being looked at mean for water? How does watching water create a relationship? What has never been observed?
Along our walk, creative exercises will explore personal stories of watery connections. Together, we will discover the theatre of everyday water - running down a tree trunk, gathering in a muddy puddle, surrounding us at a resting spot - and we’ll try to become its favourite audience.
About Syndikat Gefährliche Liebschaften (Dangerous Liaisons Syndicate)
They connect with rural spaces and communities all over Germany through different mediums such as theatrical performances, exhibitions, radio plays, parties or walks. They regard the countryside as a space that has always been diverse, queer and globalised. In their work they explore ways of rural storytelling that invite a change of perspective and show our interconnections with each other.
Dyffryn Dyfodol has been collaborating with Syndikat Gefährliche Liebschaften, through an international programme Cultural Bridge, where we have done exchange visits and collaborative activities. Our intention together is for people to collaboratively build positive things, with creativity, a spirit of enquiry and kindness for communities and the planet. We love not knowing what will emerge, so come on a journey of discovery with Syndikat Gefährliche Liebschaften.
Water Sampling Project: If you’d like to contribute to our water testing project, please bring a water sample along! We’d love to add your data to our map as we seek to answer a core question from our first phase: 'What’s in the water?' (https://www.gofodglas.org/sampledwr). Samples can be taken from any location or source.
The event organiser speaks fluent Welsh, please feel free to use Welsh or English during this event.
