This is a new and exciting role within North Wales Wildlife Trust’s land management advisory service Galwad, which supports farmers and foresters across North Wales, providing independent advice on sustainable land management practices. We are seeking a suitably qualified individual with experience of providing technical farm advice and/or land management assessments, to help farmers transition to agroecological practices, regenerative farming techniques and maximise the benefits from nature-based solutions. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and will have a good knowledge of the Sustainable Farming Scheme, able to support farmers with the implementation of Universal Actions, and able to think holistically so that farmers can take advantage of additional grant support. 

The Sustainable Farming Advisor will respond to enquiries by farmers for advice and will be proactive in generating new business leads for the provision of whole farm plans, soil health assessments, nutrient management plans or biodiversity audits. The advisor will contribute to strategic projects across North Wales, working with partner organisations to identify opportunities for conserving priority species and habitats across a landscape-scale. Working with our partner Pasture for Life, they will also play a key role in developing and delivering a programme of on-farm training and demonstration workshops, sharing information and best practice on agroecological farming from across the UK. The successful candidate will be able to take advantage of significant continuous professional development opportunities, building their skills and confidence in undertaking soil health assessments, nutrient management plans, woodland creation plans or biodiversity audits, and utilising GIS and UAV. You will be a great communicator, with a personable style who can work with many different people across the wonderful variety of geography, business development, and activities of the Wildlife Trust.
