We are looking for a confident, outgoing, dynamic and highly motivated individual to help deliver the next phase of our landscape scale project focused within the Alyn and Wheeler Valleys and covering parts of Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham. Working with partner organisations and with a strong focus on woodland creation, this Woodlands for Water Project aims to work with landholders to create, maintain and improve important habitats within the project area, reconnecting wildlife corridors and helping to improve water quality within rivers and streams. As well as landholder engagement and involvement, the project will work with contractors, volunteers, local communities and other organisations to help deliver elements of the project, including local amenity enhancements. This project is funded through the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 – Sustainable Management Scheme which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.

You will make contact, enthuse, and work with landholders to identify opportunities for habitat enhancements, especially woodland and tree planting, throughout the project area. You will deliver smaller-scale works using volunteers, partners and local contractors as appropriate. You will work with staff and partners to help develop a Spatial Green Infrastructure Map to enable the strategic targeting of habitat enhancements. You will deliver a range of events and activities that get people more active and help to raise awareness of the importance of wildlife and a healthy environment and increase people’s engagement with nature in their local area. You will assist in the management of student placements employed by the project.

Applications must be submitted using the application form available as a download.
