About the event

Discover the 'Butterfly Transect' at Marford Quarry Nature Reserve and be part of a vital citizen science project.

With over 1,000 recorded species, Marford Quarry Nature Reserve is a wildlife oasis – and one of the best places in Wales for invertebrates. See this site at its peak for butterflies, including silver-washed fritillaries and white-letter hairstreaks.

People of all abilities are welcome to join us on our annual butterfly count!

This event is being run by the local Wrexham Volunteer Branch of North Wales Wildlife Trust.

Mobility

The site is steep with gravelly slopes in places.

There are spaces for six cars just beyond the railway bridge, Disabled parking can be accessed through the reserve entrance using a RADAR key.
