Holyhead swift walk

A swift, a small-ish bird with all over black/ dark brown feathers, some fading to a paler brown on the underside, and a pale patch just below the beak. The wings have a distinctive scythe like shape and it's tail is a short V. The bird is shot from underneath, with it's wings tilted just slightly to the right of a vertical line, against a background of a bright blue sky.

About the event

Swifts have incredible life stories and aerial adaptations but they're declining faster than any other bird in Wales.

North Wales Wildlife Trust has been putting up nest boxes in Holyhead, several of which are now being used by swifts. We'll walk around known nest sites and watch the nest boxes as swifts gather towards evening time.
