A male nightjar in flight, against the black background of night. A nocturnal bird with distinctive features, it has bark like feathers, large eyes, and a very wide mouth. It's tail feathers are spread showing white patches on the ends, and near the tips of it's wings which identify it as male.

Enjoy a dusk walk through this striking post-industrial landscape, where we’ll look out for bats, nightjars, and if we’re lucky, glow-worms.

A nightjar, a bird with heavily camouflaged feathers in shades of black and dark brown to look like tree bark. It is sat on the end of a branch, with it's wings spread upwards, near the tips of the wings is a bar of white which shows this is a male.
