Call for artist! Gwaith Powdwr Memorial Project

North Wales Wildlife Trust is searching for an artist to create a memorial/sculpture at Gwaith Powdwr Nature Reserve, Penrhyndeudraeth.

We wish to work with an artist between September 2022 and February 2023 to design and produce a memorial interpreting the history of the former explosives factory and the people who worked there as well as the work of the NWWT since then to manage the site as a special haven for wildlife. The artist will work with the site warden and members of the local community during the design process. During the allocated period, the artist will also hold community art sessions to create works of art along one of the site trails.

Commission budget: £12,500 (including VAT)

We invite shows of interest by the 12th of August 2022. We hope to appoint the successful artist by 1st of September 2022 following the briefing and proposal stage of the commissioning process.

Send your show of interest to: Llinos Griffin, gwefus.cymru@gmail.com and Rob Booth, Rob.Booth@northwaleswildlifetrust.org.uk

A stone brick structure with fencing that has been grown into by all kinds of vegetation. Set just in front of a small steep cliff with lots of trees growing from it. The sky behind is bright blue, and there is dappled light through the bright green leaves
