Osprey watch at Gors Maen Llwyd

An Osprey, a large bird of prey with white body and dark brown wings on it's nest. It's wings are raised forwards and above it's head as if it is about to take off in flight.

About the event

An opportunity for some bird watching while we walk to the lakeside and view the osprey chicks, which should be active at this time of year as they prepare to fledge.  From our vantage point, we'll be just 300 meters away from the nest. On hand will be two members of the osprey project to answer all your questions. We will provide a spotting scope and binoculars but please feel free to bring your own.

Please dress according to the weather as it can be windy and wet. Walking boots/wellies and a waterproof coat will help keep you dry. Please consider bringing insect repellent as you will be walking close to the lake.

While you're here, why not discover the incredible world of ospreys at Llyn Brenig’s Osprey Exhibition, now reopened after a makeover? Developed in partnership with North Wales Wildlife Trust, this exhibition is located in the visitor centre and offers a unique opportunity to learn about the history of the Brenig Osprey Project.

Why not see the opsreys up close and visit our osprey lookout? Full details on our website here.
