About the event

To enter the bird race you will need to make a team, pick a region, and get registered via Eventbrite for your entries to count in the race. The four regions are: Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy and a combined Flintshire + Denbighshire.

Teams must have a minimum of 3 people, with no upper limit, but you must stick together for the whole race, so large groups are not recommended.

Then you have a full 24 hours in which to see and record as many different bird species as you can.

Every species recorded helps with providing data, so if you're an expert or beginner the NWWT bird race is a great way to get involved with surveying and even kick-start (or just re-start) a fun annual tradition.

Dogs

On a lead

The majority of our reserves allow dogs, but they must be on leads, especially anywhere that has ground nesting bird populations.
Please check the individual reserve pages, and follow their guidance if you intend to bring dogs.

Mobility

We would recommend that you check the reserve pages of the website for the region you have picked, some reserves are more easily accessible than others.
