Caeau Pen y Clip

A wet grassland with good hedgerows, Caeau Pen y Clip is a haven for wildlife

The reserve is made up of five fields, the largest of which is dominated by an area of marshy grassland, and a good place to see wintering snipe. All the fields reflect the long history of agricultural management prior to their acquisition by the Wildlife Trust at the end of the Twentieth century. The fields are contained by well developed hedgerows which are used by a variety of breeding birds in the summer; they also provide important food sources in the autumn and winter. A short walk around this oasis on the outskirts of Menai Bridge gives you chance to see wetland wildflowers and a diversity of hedgrow plants.
