Traditional field patterns with a range of wildflowers including Greater Butterfly Orchids.
With their clawdd (earth and stone) walls, Caeau Tan y Bwlch are some of the last traditional fields left on the Lleyn Peninsula.
Owned by Plantlife, they are now protected thanks to a partnership including the North Wales Wildlife Trust, the National Trust and the Countryside Council for Wales.
Take the A499 from Caernarfon to Pwllheli. Just before the church in Clynnog Fawr, take a sharp left towards Llanllyfni, then immediately turn right. Continue uphill on this narrow road for about 3/4 of a mile. Then, take an unexpected right hand turn. Continue on this winding lane for about 1 mile. After a right angled turn to the left, continue ofr about 150m. Caeau Tan y Bwlch are on your left. Turn into the gateway and park in the small parking area.
