Title - Wildlife of North Wales Wildlife Trust Nature Reserves

 

Conditions of entry

Three photographs/images are allowed per photographer, and up to 20 words capturing the 'essence of the picture' or 'why it was taken' may be added. These words will not be included in the judging, but used in a caption if the image is selected for the touring exhibition.

 

Wildlife must be an important element of the photograph. Judges will be looking for images that capture a quality of the wildlife and / or habitat of the reserves. They will consider the aesthetic as well as the technical merit of the image.

 

Entries may be prints or digital, B & W or colour and must be the original work of the entrant and taken within the boundary of the Nature Reserve. Photographs/images taken at NWWT Nature Reserves since January 2010 are eligible. See maps of reserves at www.northwaleswildlifetrust.org.uk

 

Maximum size A4, unmounted.  Please note: authors of those images selected for exhibition will be asked to provide good prints or digital files to ensure good reproduction quality.

 

Staff and trustees of NWWT are not eligible to enter.

 

Categories:       a) under 18 years     b) 18 years and over    

 

Closing date - December 31st 2011

 

Judges:  Ben Stammers (People & Wildlife Officer NWWT), Les Starling (Ruthin Camera Club), Kim Dewsbury (Denbighshire Visual Arts Officer).

 

Prizes. The best 20 photographs will form a touring exhibition to be shown in selected arts centres, libraries and museums across N.Wales The top two images in both categories will also receive prizes.

 

The photographs remain the property of the photographer, but may be used for educational or publicity purposes by the NWWT with appropriate credit.
