Let the North Wales Wildlife Trust inspire you with a whole weekend of ‘Random Acts of Wildness’ to celebrate 30 Days Wild.

The Wildlife Trusts across the UK are offering a huge range of nature-tastic events during this year’s Big Wild Weekend, which runs from 15-16 June. This special weekend marks the middle of 30 Days Wild, The Wildlife Trusts’ annual nature challenge that dares people to do something wild every day in June.  This year is a record-breaker, with over 1,200 people across North Wales having signed up to take part.

North Wales Wildlife Trust are marking the weekend with a range of guided walks and nature themed activities that are taking place right across the region, from Anglesey to Wrexham. Whether it’s a long ramble through a nature reserve, a brisk stroll along a wildlife-rich headland or a relaxing mindfulness walk in the woods – here’s a quick taster of the kinds of activities on offer:

Using the senses to celebrate summer

Sat 15th / 18:00 – 20:00 /Aberduna Nature Reserve

A guided walk looking at signs of summer, incorporating a mindfulness taster session with Nick Howarth.

The Upper Conwy Catchment at Carrog

Saturday 15 June 2019 10:00 – 13:00

A guided tour of the pioneering nature restoration work being undertaken by the National Trust at Carrog Farm, Cwm Penmachno. Booking essential.

Strawberry Tea
Sun 16th / 14:00 - 17:00 / Anglesey

Enjoy a stunning headland walk and potter around gardens and pond before relaxing with strawberries and cream, homemade cake and coffee – all courtesy of the Wright family. Visit the bring & buy plant stall, too!

Minera Mountain

Sun 16th / 14:00 – 16:00 / Minera Quarry Nature Reserve

This fairly long walk, under the expert leadership of Simon Mills, celebrates both the Big Wild Weekend and a new wildlife sanctuary next to our own Minera Quarry. Expect to see a very rare wild honey bee nest!

Wildlife Walk: Cemlyn & Carmel Head

Sun 16th / 10:00 – 16:00 / Cemlyn Nature Reserve

Join this beautiful 9-mile wildlife walk from Cemlyn Nature Reserve following the Wales Coast Path. We'll look for seals, chough and coastal wildflowers before meeting the seasonal tern wardens. Booking essential.

Big Wild Litterpicks!

Sun 16th / 10:00 – 12:00 / Bala Lake

We want to do something to help our wildlife this Big Wild Weekend, so we'll be litterpicking. Bring your Dads this Fathers' day and help us at Bala lake in the morning.
