Roseate Tern LIFE project

Roseate Terns are one our most beautiful, enigmatic and vulnerable summer visitors….subject to many pressures and threats in the UK and Ireland, during their long migrations and in their wintering grounds along the West African Coast. In partnership with the RSPB and BirdWatch Ireland, NWWT is working on a major European funded project to support and boost efforts to secure Roseate Tern populations and provide the conditions and habitats to help them return to their former breeding sites around the UK and Celtic/Irish Sea

NWWT has a vital part to play in the future of Roseate Terns- helping to provide the conditions that encourage their return to former breeding sites on Anglesey while raising awareness and understanding of the threats and pressures these beautiful birds face along our coasts and marine environment.
