To celebrate the 50th Birthday of the North Wales Wildlife Trust, we're holding a 24hr Bird Race on NWWT Reserves! A way of showing the fantastic range of species you can see in the different habitats, with a bit of competitive banter, fun and fund-raising thrown in...
We're hoping to get as many individuals/ teams to take part in the different regions as possible! you can join in the race, or just visit one or two sites on the day, or just come along to the post-race-get-together on the Sunday! Cemlyn is one of the iconic coastal locations on Anglesey. It is an internationally important seabird site with Wales' single most important sandwich tern colony and also has opportunities to see lots of other wildlife both on the shore and in the coastal waters of North Anglesey. This evening walk will provide the opportunity to learn about the life of the seabird colony as they return to roost for the evening and explore coastal habitats along with the chance of seeing seals and other coastal creatures! 2miles, 2hrs Moderate-Difficult terrain. Our Traditional Haymeadows are disappearing fast. There will be presentations adn information available in the mroning about traditional haymeadow managements and why these habitats are so important with tea and cakes! In the afternoon there will be an opportunity to visit and help survey NWWT and Plantilife's fantastic reserve at Caeau Tan-y-Bwlch to count the greater butterfly orchids in the company of Dr Trevor Dines who recently starred on Channel 4's series 'Wild Things'.
